               Our History                     

The “SPORTS GRILLE” brand was founded in 2001-2002 by Owner Sean Pregibon with the original concept: The Youngstown Sports Grille, in Youngstown, Ohio.  Then, moving to Pittsburgh; Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania in 2012 with The Sports Grille at Cranberry, now celebrating 10 years in the Pittsburgh market.

Sean’s ties to Pittsburgh stem from his Father, Nick, who lived in the Pittsburgh/Gibsonia area for nearly 35 years.  Nick, was an electrical engineer and Market Manager for Westinghouse, and an original contributor to the Sports Grille menu, with the Families’ original recipe for homemade Hot Peppers in Oil:  Pregi-Peppers, which remains a crowd favorite on the menu, 20 years later!  The Original recipe was handed down from Sean’s Grandpa Nick, perfecting the recipe, circa 1970.

The Sports Grille is a local, sports-themed restaurant with homemade food and entertainment; however, Sean’s passion for the restaurant is Hospitality.  From a warm smile and greeting upon your arrival, to fresh flowers in the lobby and clean restrooms, to spotless floors and friendly, knowledgeable service.

Located in the heart of Cranberry Township, The Sports Grille is a relaxing, family-friendly, “come as you are” neighborhood “joint.”  A true sports-themed restaurant, with the emphasis in the kitchen on Homemade Family Recipes, featuring locally sourced ingredients – not your typical sports bar food!

Amongst the array of 40 Hi-Def, LED 4G TV screens, you’ll find popular menu items such as the Homemade Creamy Garlic Ranch Dressing, the Bacon Ranch Fries, Loaded “Pittsburgh” Philly Cheese Steak, and even the Dick Mango Nachos!  Dinner time boasts a vast selection of entrees including our famous Strawberry Baby Back Ribs that fall off the bone, mouthwatering Prime Steaks seared to perfection, and house-battered Fish & Pierogi.

One of our most popular sections in the restaurant is our Kids’ Play Area.  This gives our young rising sports stars a chance to play with other children and make friends, while Mom and Dad share some “alone-time” for dinner and conversation, and perhaps a nice beverage.

Speaking of which, we proudly offer some of the Cleanest, Freshest Beer in Pittsburgh.  With 20 tap handles, our beer lines are cleaned and sanitized once per week, giving you the cleanest pour that you’ll find.  Our many other standards include: proper barrel inventory rotation and labeling, proper temperature of the keg room and beer lines, clean, sanitized and chilled glassware and rinsers – all to ensure your optimal drinking experience.  Our selections range from hard-to-find IPA’s to local craft beer from all areas of Pennsylvania to imports such as Stella Artois and Guinness, to very clean domestic light pilsners.  Just scroll through our “What’s on Tap” section for our most current Cerveza Selections!

Back to Sports – we certainly champion Local Athletes!  From the Little Stars on the rise, to the Hall of Famers, The Sports Grille has become a gathering place to showcase all of the talents from the surrounding communities.  It is truly the local Coaches, Athletic Directors, Players and the Moms and Dads, who make the local athletic tradition an integral part of The Sports Grille.  All players and coaches are encouraged to bring in their local sports memorabilia, and we will proudly display it on the walls.
